*Spoiler alert, there’s some gross/creepy language ahead.
While I love staring and talking about the opposite sex, I don’t have an interest in dating at the moment. As a 25 year old straight woman, this has raised a few eyebrows. In my opinion, the only reason one would want to date, is to potentially get married. I believe that if you really want to be with someone, you need to be able to put their needs/feelings above your own. Don’t get me wrong, can I do that? Yes. Do I want to? NO.
That said, during the holidays my dear family looks upon me as the “sad dog lady”. With the exception of my mother, I know everyone in my family is desperately hoping that I get hitched sooner than later. I can almost guarantee my dad has a dowry hidden away for some poor guy to take me off of his hands.
Aside from my own lackadaisical attitude towards dating, the hookup culture of my generation leaves a lot to be desired. Which brings me to my awesome newfound way to entertain myself: Tinder! Now, I know what you’re thinking, why would I even be on that app if I have no intention of dating? It’s incredibly entertaining. Plus I wanted to see how many ridiculous and obscene things people say. To my disappointment only about 25% of the people I’ve spoken to were creepy. Everyone else has been pretty respectful. Just to be clear, I don’t subscribe to the belief that all men are pigs and all that jazz. That said, I’ve been on the app for about a week and here’s some of the interesting things I’ve encountered
The Meh:
The Bad/Thirsty:
The WTF:
So these are a few of the awesome things you too can look forward to on Tinder. I’ll be honest though, it does provide a significant source of entertainment for my roommate and I. Who else has been on Tinder? Any funny/creepy stories?
OMG! I thought the responses were from a comedy skit.

Hahahahaha you certainly have met some interesting people on Tinder… I’ve gotten a number of the straight up “wanna hook up?” messages, but most people seem to be ok. I’ve actually met someone who’s now a good friend of mine on there, but nothing else really. I just can’t take it seriously.

It’s definitely been a ride, lol! I posted just the ridiculous stuff but most people are pretty decent. I agree, I can’t see myself answering the “how did you two meet” question with: Tinder, haha!
